“Living My Life Like It’s Golden”
“Work for justice” I was driving by Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha (CTUL), a worker’s rights organization on 37th and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis. Although I don’t know what this scene was about, I did find out some news. On June 20, 2018, Jobs with Justice presented CTUL with the 2018 Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Award for “their transformative campaign improving working and living conditions for retail janitors” in the Twin Cities metro area (jwj.org). Per CTUL’s website (ctul.net): “Over the last decade, CTUL has been fighting to make the Twin Cities metro area a place where workers can live and work with dignity, a place that’s more equitable and just for everyone, and where everyone has the opportunity to live their best lives.”
"Shepherds of the shepherd" Josie Post, 5, and her mother, Jess, just finished combing out their Australian shepherd, Tanq, when they paused to greet friends outside their home on 12th Avenue South. Tanq may have thought his spa day was over but still to come was the summer bath he generally dreads.
