“Martha" For the past 16 years, Martha has been restoring older homes both inside and out throughout the neighborhood, planting gardens, building decks and fences, finding employment or residences for others, rescuing stray animals, lending tools, advice or support—all the traits a neighborly person has plus a whole lot more. Since early adulthood she has had the energy and drive to improve the aesthetics of her surroundings and to connect with people along the way. Martha is a true artist and friend to all of Powderhorn!
"Tribute To Minimum Wage Workers" Marakah Mancini made her creative contribution to a mural on the west side of the building at 3715 Chicago Avenue, home to several non profits, including Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en Lucha (CTUL). Its members are mostly low wage, minority workers who have successfully sought a voice in shaping their workplaces, communities and politics since 2007.
