This photo is taken from inside the thatched enclosure at Tiny Diner. The structure reminds me of the conical-shaped ceremonial houses constructed by the indigenous of Costa Rica. The opening at the top represents, and is a symbol for, the light we receive (from the sun). The circular shape of the structure is our world and even bigger, our universe.
"Habitat for Humanity" I met Jean Krause, the Community Relations Director for CenterPoint Energy. She was on-site of the Habitat for Humanity house project going up on the 3500 block of 13th Ave. Of the project she said, 'This year marks the 24th year of our partnership with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity in building energy-efficient, affordable homes. About 100 volunteers will spend a day framing and building the walls for the house and garage this week. Over time we estimate more than 1,900 CenterPoint Energy volunteers have committed over 16,000 hours to help build affordable housing in the company’s service territory. We have invited locals and leaders to stop by today (6-22) over lunch and tour the home. Should schedules permit we are expecting Hennepin County Commissioner McLaughlin and Senator Hayden to stop by.' This is the crew who volunteered on Tuesday.
