"Spring Shadows" After a cold week, Minneapolis residents were excited to see the spring sun reappeared Saturday afternoon. Many Powderhorn residents participated in a city-wide Earth Day clean-up on Saturday morning. As groups picked up trash around the neighborhood Mother Earth appeared to thank them by sending away the gray clouds and uncovering the warm sunshine.
"Red wind sculpture" This very interesting outdoor sculpture is perfectly designed to do multi-level spinning in the breeze. It resides in the front yard of artists Jamie and Lois' home, overlooking the Park. I like the whimsy of it, and the interesting contrast of the old-style decorative art on the front of the house and the newer, abstract art of the metal tower. I also enjoy seeing the hanging seed pods on the adjacent tree. Spring is here in spirit even if it's still cold out.
