"Minneapolis Skyline" Taken from Powderhorn Park of our lovely city. Even if our toes are freezing off, we all have reasons why we stay. Sometimes all it takes is the Minneapolis skyline.
"Missing Summer" I like to stroll. Wherever I have lived, it is one of my favorite activities, and strolling on a 5 degree day with 17mph winds can be wonderful on a sunny day, until you realize your legs are starting to hurt from the cold. I was trying to visualize warm and summer as I headed back across the park on my way home. All the outdoor places people normally would be playing and chatting were empty or had people hurrying through to get inside. I found the basketball court to be particularly desolate. On my way out of the park, a little girl who had just hopped off the school but stopped to ask me "Are you going to Powderhorn Park?" I told her, "I was but now I am going home, because I am so cold. Are you going to Powderhorn Park?" She told me, "Yes, I'm going to play on the computers!" And then she ran off. I turned around to get one last glimpse of winter sun and to shine on my cheeks and I saw this scene.
