Perhaps it's the frigid temperatures making it too arduous to take them down, or just that it's fun to keep bringing the neighborhood holiday cheer even though the season is over, but lots of Powderhorn houses still have their Christmas lights up. This one is my favorite display.
"Snow Shots" Antonio and some of his teammates from the Powderhorn Basketball team braved the cold Saturday afternoon to get in some extra practice at the outdoor courts. The 12u team had just finished their competition in the gym and wanted to kill some time while other teams finished their games inside. The boys did not last long in the cold, but luckily just long enough to capture them showing off their skills. You can cheer on the Powderhorn Basketball youth every Saturday morning at Powderhorn Recreation Center.
"Garbage Day" Individuals essential to the effective running of our neighborhood that I often miss seeing and almost missed capturing today. Fridays are currently alternatively garbage day and recycling day. Active but chilly work on a winter morning.
