"ArtStop Little Free Library" Neighbors gather to dedicate and celebrate the new library tower at the ArtStop on 32nd and Chicago. The three-story structure (top right) was filled with books and will be a place that people can bring or take books. The party included readings, singing, speeches, and food. Florence Hill (white shirt on side of photo) purchased the empty lot in 1990 and gave it to the neighborhood. She and others have not only maintained the gardens but have created structures and held art workshops for the community.
"Pollinator" After being repeatedly stung by what ended up being a bumble bee while mowing my lawn, I did a little research on bees in attempts to figure out if it really was the type of bee I thought. During my research, I (re)learned about the different ways that different bees carry pollen. In this photo you can clearly see the pollen "baskets" that honey bees have on their hind legs to carry the pollen back to the hive.
"Ballin' on Asphalt" One of the many pick-up games which happen over the summer at Powderhorn Park.
