"The Stag" A guerilla garden popped up on 17th Ave this summer. The crown of this vegetable was the innards of an old piano. This section of the piano strings with the remnants of a summer vine, reminded me of a deer in the snow.
"Vet Check" Lucy appeared to have some trepidation about getting checked over on the examination table. It all ended happily with well appreciated treats. Also shown here is Dr. Courtney Blake of the VCA Cedar Animal Hospital.
"Reflected Winter Scene" This is a main window at the park building with some vivid, sunlit reflections in it. It shows the winter scene by the wading pool, with the fenced enclosure around it. I like the mishmash of the details that give the photo kind of a surreal quality. We can see some clearly readable signs with backward lettering, someone running on the sidewalk past the mail van, the texture of the tree trunk, and in the middle of the window, the lighter square of light displays the scene within the room out the back window overlooking the lake. Of course, the colorful and cool-shaped bike racks offset the window reflections, reminding us that this layer is the most clear and present one.
