"Are you my mother?" My husband and I have been reading the book, Are you my mother?, by P.D. Eastman, repeatedly to our one-year old. Then just yesterday we discovered this nest right in our own yard. Today I finally had my camera ready when the Mother (or Father?) bird was there.
"Octopus Pants" The silliness of this sign (both the phrase, and the fact that it has not been updated in many months) brings a smile to our faces, and has become a turn of phrase in our household for anything odd or absurd.
"Grassroots" Today was a historic day for our neighborhood, because the President of the United States had lunch at Powderhorn's beloved Matt's Bar, and it's really hard to put up a photo that is of something else, but I just wasn't there. Still, this event that I was at (The PPNA Community Cafe's "Bike Powderhorn") was special in a more "grassroots" kind of way. Friends and families were out biking the neighborhood, just making memories and building up their community...I think that this is just the kind of thing that makes Powderhorn a place that any President would want to visit.
