Alien space ship? No. Just an artist-to-artist prank. This beautifully weird vessel traveled from Tiny Town, in NE Minneapolis to amuse/ annoy and mitigate storage issues. (I take that back, it is an alien ship... of sorts.)
"An Artful Powderhorn Park" The weekend's Powderhorn Art Fair decorated the park with tents, art work, and shoppers. The tents around the lake made for a bright picture on a bright day!
"Halftime" “Your assignment is the Powderhorn Art Fair.” Seemed easy at first, but when I got down to the park early Saturday morning I found myself struggling to find a way to capture what that meant. There are so many things that are special to different people in different ways. Community Showcase? Pottery or painting? Music? Puppets? Volunteers?! I made three soirees to the park and still felt unsatisfied. A late afternoon conversation with a photographer friend (and PAF vendor) reminded me that what makes our Art Fair special is the setting. I returned one more time near sunset and set up a tripod near the north end of the lake. I liked the feeling of a lush park as a proper setting for hosting art and artists; even if the art was bedded down for the night.
