"Halftime" “Your assignment is the Powderhorn Art Fair.” Seemed easy at first, but when I got down to the park early Saturday morning I found myself struggling to find a way to capture what that meant. There are so many things that are special to different people in different ways. Community Showcase? Pottery or painting? Music? Puppets? Volunteers?! I made three soirees to the park and still felt unsatisfied. A late afternoon conversation with a photographer friend (and PAF vendor) reminded me that what makes our Art Fair special is the setting. I returned one more time near sunset and set up a tripod near the north end of the lake. I liked the feeling of a lush park as a proper setting for hosting art and artists; even if the art was bedded down for the night.
"Little Pink Ball" I walk past this house every day on my way to work, and often wonder why it was placed so far back on the lot. Was there a plan for a bigger house that never came to fruition? Did the original house burn down? Did the owners just want the privacy of having their house set so far back? And what is in that big storage shed? I'll probably never know the answers to these musings, but what I do know, is there is a nice big grassy yard for a child to play in and easily find their little pink ball.
"Powderhorn Youth Farm" Youth Farm is growing strong this time of year! Keep up the good work!
