"Tapping for Sap" We are tapping our friends' Black Walnut tree for the first time this year. When we first drilled a hole in the tree, the sap started running out! We were so excited. Then the day cooled down and the sap stopped flowing. We are waiting for the weather to warm up again so we can make Black Walnut syrup for our pancakes this spring.
