"Bravo! Bravo!" We met Eric today on a bike ride in the Park. He was camped out at one of the picnic tables playing his violin and strumming on his guitar. His playing was quite impressive not to mention the fact that he rode to the park on his bicycle with his two instruments.
"Sprinkle a Little Compost" Today was one of those days that I am extra-glad to be included in this project. On Chicago Ave near 34th St. a group of Powderhorn community residents broke ground for a new community garden (as yet to be named). It is in the lot beside the new South City Cafe. It was difficult to choose a photo for the day. Check out the new garden sometime this summer. You can also read all about it in the Free Speech Zone of the Daily Planet. Kathleen Sullivan wrote an excellent, bi-lingual, piece on the project.
"Ella, Ima, Alex and Kristen" Good neighbors and friends hanging out on a gorgeous Spring day. Alex is a Community Activist and avid Gardener and Kristen is a Printmaker making her living as a painter of the interiors and exteriors of homes. I've seen her painting work and it is very good.
