"Zak and Holly" Zak and Holly Asia enjoy the winter sunshine in front of their home. They saw me pondering a structure in their yard and stepped out to explain (it keeps birds and squirrels out of the vegetable garden), and we got into a pleasant discussion about our respective remodeling businesses, the solar water heating system they designed and installed in their home, the loveliness of having homemade jam from their grapevines all winter long, and why they love living in Powderhorn (friendly, progressive people).
"Andy, with art" Artist, writer, Springboard for the Arts operations assistant, and Powderhorn resident Andy Sturdevant poses with two pieces of art relevant to PoHo. One is a painting on wood by local artist and Jerome Fellow Tynan Kerr, who lives in a studio above Roberts Shoes. The other you probably recognize: a print of the official Minnesota State Photograph—"Grace"—taken by Eric Enstrom in 1918. I took this with the crappy camera on my phone instead of my Rebel EOS to see if I could get something strangely 1960s. Andy and I both love the strange Wes Anderson quality of the shot.
"Minneapolis Winter Parking Restrictions in Full Effect" The block of 12th Avenue South appears to completely understand the winter parking restrictions which were instituted last week. This is the first time in nine years that the City has issued these restrictions which restrict parking to one side of the street until April. See this link to the City's website for additional information: Winter Parking Restrictions
