"Rain Dance" Such is my dedication that I did walk these wet, windy, wintry streets this morning in search of my fellow humans that I might take a picture of one of them, thus rendering them immortal (or at least famous as long as Powderhorn365 shall live). Alas, none were to be found except those whizzing by ensconced in their warm automobiles. Finally, fingers frozen, buffeted by whipping winds, camera spattered with many a frigid raindrop, I gave in and took a picture of my small traveling companion, who unlike myself was thoroughly enjoying the adventure of a walk in any weather. An accessory man, he finds umbrellas especially enjoyable, although chameleon rainboots come in a close second.
"Mr. Blue and the Mermaid" Thinking about the 8th anniversary of the death of the Wellstones and their campaign staff, I was feeling kind of bluesy when I stumbled across this scene. These characters became a healing tonic.
"American Elm" This tree was removed by a homeowner on 18th Avenue South today. Elms in South Minneapolis which are diseased must come down following an inspection by the City at which time the diseased tree is denoted as such by the tagging of an orange stripe and the inspector's first name initial around the trunk of the tree. This Elm was not diseased and did not bear an orange tag but yet the homeowner opted for removal of the 115 year old tree. It is still so full of life.
