"Poppy" This poppy popped out at me, with its brilliant, tissue-paper-like petals. My small son admired it so much that he mastered the word "flower" and has been saying it all day since, pointing them out in yards and on the computer screen. We found other flowers on our walk as well.
"Powderhorn Portrait" In the yard at 12th and 31st, with a chair we actually found in the yard. Myself and my partner, the novelist Geoff Herbach. We leave in two weeks for Mankato—but the Big Yellow House on the corner will remain in the family.
"Red Kites" I recently noticed this street art on the side of Jim's Roofing, Inc.'s building at 32nd Street and Bloomington Avenue South.
