"Homage" So, today my girlfriend and I had to deal with a major infestation of pantry moths in our kitchen. It took all day to clear out the cabinets; search every box and bag and jar in the cupboards; and wipe everything down. Suffice it to say our squirrels and birds had a feast this afternoon. So I did not get out as early as I wanted to for a photo today. However, this was not a bad thing. One of my favorite photographs from 2009 was Corey Needleman's "Grasshopper". Now, thanks to those dozens of little pantry moths, and their babies, 2010 has our own grasshopper photo.

"Abundance" This statue stands amid late summer blooms in a garden in Powderhorn neighborhood in Minneapolis. I decided to feature this statue even though photos of it appeared previously in Powderhorn365.com (on 8/30/09 by Mel Boone and on 1/4/10 by Stephanie Wilbur Ash). There is something compelling about the lushness and soft look of the flowers juxtaposed with the stone statue holding a clay pot while in front of the brick building in shadow.
