"The 4th in the Park" There was a day-long celebration held at Powderhorn Park in honor of Independence Day. I met these three ladies who were making the community aware of the important work being done by Community Action of Minneapolis. This organization provides programs and services for low-income residents of Minneapolis with assistance ranging from Energy Services to Children and Family Development. As we discussed the important benefits of this organization in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood, we were listening to the sounds of Onayemi and its rhythmic African drumming on the stage behind us as the smell of families grilling burgers and sweet corn swirled around us. Fireworks at 10! Thank you to all of the neighborhood business sponsors for helping to make this fun-filled, day-long event possible!
"Whispering Secrets" This evening I witnessed a dragonfly whispering his secrets to this Lily bud. He stayed for many photos, obliging me for a good 15 minutes. He'd fly off for a second, then alight again. Finally, when I said, "Thank you," he flew off for good.
"Anahi, Stephanie and Andrea" These three were enjoying a lunch that their Abuela made for them. They were also enjoying the shade on their street boulevard.
