"Recycling Day" Patrick has been on the job for about a year. Prior to being a Recycling Man, he worked on a crew picking up yard waste for part of the year. He let go of his gym membership because of the good cardio and exercise he gets on the job. He says he really appreciates it when people sort all the categories of recyclables cleanly and, luckily, we get a gold star:)
"Words for politicians to take to heart" The pumpkins in the window box drew my attention to this house, and then I noticed the sign with a quote from Paul Wellstone. "Porch Prairie" Local Powderhorn resident and artist, Malia Burkhart, has been painting a mural of the prairie on her front porch over the past few days. She wants her porch to be a representation of what existed in this area before Minneapolis. Many have walked past and commented, or stopped to talk with Malia. One neighbor even expressed, "Your front porch makes my day. Everyday."
