"Urban Arts Academy" This class and two teachers from the Urban Arts Academy at 39th and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis came to do an art project in Powderhorn Park. UAA is a "neighborhood-based non-profit organization that offers free and low-cost arts education, mentorships, and academic tutoring" for preschool through middle-school youth in Powderhorn, Bancroft, Bryant, and Central neighborhoods. Some of the children are guest photographers on this web site, with Bruce Silcox as their mentor. The program's annual Spring Gala fundraiser is this Saturday, April 24.
