Stop. Look.
Be present here.
In taking a photo, my challenge is to see the world anew.
Slow down, and really see, not just the images, but the people and places, the stories, the patterns, the beauty of our lives.
Photography pushes me to reach out to the people and connect, through a discussion, a photography, a shared experience. The camera becomes the connection between me and the strangers in my community. It challenges me to see beyond my first impression, to listen to their stories and to share my own.
To own a photo, I have to let myself be seen. I have to be present with my subject and be honest with myself.
It is a practice of living.
An expression of life.
