On October 11, people gathered at the Powderhorn Park Building in Minneapolis for the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association's annual meeting. Some of the attendees were Mala and Jeff. Mala Vujnovich leads the food team of the Powderhorn Empty Bowls event on Friday 11/2/12, is the former owner of the May Day Cafe, and is an active member of the community. Jeff Hayden is a State Senator for District 61, which includes Powderhorn. Jeff was a board member of Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association, including a stint as board chair. They are standing in front of a photo mobile created for the Powderhorn Art Fair this year by Rebecca Lawrence and Satya Varghese Mac of Powderhorn365.

Mary Lee enjoys an iced coffee at her favorite table. She lives in Powderhorn in a house where her father was born and raised and where she has lived all her life. On the cafe walls are must-see illuminated illustrations by Anne Sawyer-Aitch, another Powderhorn resident. These are from her new children's book, Nalah and the Pink Tiger (for sale at the cafe during this exhibit).
