The first, but I'd wager not the last...

Braiding the next generation.

It was a beautiful day to go down to Powderhorn Lake and feed the ducks. Fue un dia hermoso para ir al lago Powderhorn a dar comida a los patos.

No fish were harmed in the taking of this picture, much to Kamu's disappointment. During the summertime, Powderhorn Rec Center has poles and bait that they lend out to fish off the dock. Too late for this season, but keep it in mind for a neighborhood activity next year.

The Ceremonia Chalchiutlicue & Environmental Justice Summit did not take place at the park due to the morning's rain, but Powderhorn was still hoppin' despite the downpour. There was the PPNA Housing Improvement and Garden Fair inside the gym, and the Local Food Resource Hub plant pick-up outside.
I became a member of the Hub today www.gardeningmatters.org/hubs and was delighted with the plants and seeds I received. After the sun came out, this gentleman loaded up the truck with the leftovers, and the young women were selecting a few more seedlings to take home and plant.

Actually, it was too cold to stop them to talk, so they could be brothers or worst enemies, but I'm guessing they're friends. I took lots of pictures of the people of Powderhorn today (made me wish I could post more than one photo per day!); click on "More in Powderhorn365 pool" at lower right to see more photos.
